Big Nose is our favorite deer at Horsetooth. She’s two-ish, I think. As a fawn she had a disproportionately large nose. It was adorable. She also had more than her share of curiosity. No fear of humans. Which made us plenty afraid for her.
This fall there was a pair of new fawns born much too late in the season. I worried for them too. Would they make it through a harsh winter? Was Big Nose a momma? An aunt? Would she join the deer squad looking out for the wobbly kneed?
There’s more than just cold weather and cars to worry about.
Lions gotta eat too.

I’m happy to report that Big Nose and The Twins are doing quite well. Always a treat to see them on the trail.
The Daddy Daughter scream! Glorious.
Hah. I love the woodpecker screaming entry.
