Hope you enjoyed this comic from 2014. It was the last finished thing I made before quitting comics for 10 years.
I talk a lot about that gap in my creative life. As much as I allude to that period in negative terms, it really wasn’t a bad thing. It was a long season of growth and growth can be hard. We grew our family, lived in three states across three very distinct regions of the US, careers changed and blew up, and I had the opportunity to explore many other passions including running and game development.
Sometimes a full life is one where you focus on just a few things at a time instead of everything all at once.
Your comic, and your explanation below it, are so incredibly touching. And I truly feel what you say about the growth and the change and the exploration and the everything of all of it. Oh so true.
