It’s ok to take a step back, regroup, and figure out how to move forward.
Pretty sure I crashed because of the time change. I don’t typically eat before runs but I didn’t consider that as far as my body was concerned I wasn’t going to be eating dinner until 9pm.
Actions have consequences and all that.
I’m reading Ultra-Something by Brendan Leonard and really enjoying it. It’s kind of a meandering memoir of sorts. Like an inner monologue describing your life as it slowly flickers before your eyes in the late stages of an ultra.
I have feeling and thoughts I can’t quantify. I don’t know what to do or what will happen. I don’t know my country any more. I don’t want to feel this way.
I should have eaten before the run. I don’t typically eat before runs. But with the time change my body thought it was an hour later than normal. A 7 mile run up a steep fire road on an empty stomach isn’t going to end well. This one didn’t end well.
I’m so glad we moved.
So I guess I ran up towers on an empty stomach

Things have been pretty full around here for some time. This may have been the busiest summer of my life. Lots of wonderful memories made. Time with family. Time with friends. Time in nature. Time spent distracting myself from current events.
Stepping out of a routine can be discombobulating for sure!
