Oof. I hear sprains are the most dangerous part about hiking.

Hadn’t even thought about that, but yeah, get far enough out, sprain an ankle and then the weather turns? Yikes!

When Amanda started hiking a bit, her parents were concerned about bears and people, but yeah it’s like sprained ankles and I’d imagine contaminated water are the real dangers.

It all depends on where you are. Mountain lions and bears are real dangers here but it’s far more likely you get caught in a storm above tree line than see either of those. And without the right gear it could be even more dangerous.

A young guy died on Longs recently when he got turned around above the keyhole as a snow storm came in. Nature DGAF about you…
