It was something to that effect - perhaps not as harshly as I put it but it definitely took by surprise. I really enjoy Van's work - it's where I got the name for my substack - but I suppose it's to be expected that you won't see eye to eye on everything with anyone. Especially with artists that are willing to share themselves with us on such a deep level.
I looked for the video to properly cite the quote but I couldn't find it so I ended up scratching out that bit - and bunch else for similar reasons.
